The small desert from Taghazout: caves, tracks and dunes

A full day south, from a wild beach to a dam, with lunch in a local home.

First stop: Sidi R’bat, with its shell-covered beach and fishermen’s caves carved into the cliff. An off-road track then follows the Atlantic to the Massa River, a haven for migrating birds.

In Tiznit, the Silver City, you stroll through the medina. Then the road climbs towards the Atlas for lunch in a Berber home: tajine, couscous, seasonal fruit and mint tea.

In the afternoon, it’s the small Sahara dunes (optional camel ride), then the view over the Youssef Ben Tachfine dam.
