From the Marrakech medina to the Atlantic: the south in 8 days

Two nights in Marrakech, the High Atlas, a night in the Erg Chebbi dunes and a day in Essaouira, in one private week.

Days 1–2. Your driver-guide meets you at Marrakech airport. In the evening, a first walk to Jemaa el-Fna square. The next morning, a licensed local guide shows you the medina: the Koutoubia, the souks and the old palaces.

Days 3–4. We cross the High Atlas by the Tizi n’Tichka pass and explore Aït Ben Haddou, then spend the night in Ouarzazate. Next come the palm groves of the Draa Valley, N’Kob and Alnif, and a camel ride into the dunes at sunset. Night at the camp, in a private tent with its own bathroom.

Days 5–6. Sunrise over the dunes. A walk in the Todra Gorge, then the hairpin bends of the Dades. The next day, the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs and the Skoura palm grove lead you back to Marrakech.

Days 7–8. A day trip to Essaouira, with a stop at an argan oil cooperative: the ramparts, the blue boats in the harbour and the medina. On day 8, your driver-guide takes you to the airport or wherever you like in Marrakech.

Good to know

  • 🎒 What to bring: comfortable walking shoes for the medinas, sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen and a light jacket for the evenings.
